Social media creative, and mother of two boys, Sam Bonnor is passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle. This always smiling, health conscious role-model is an inspiration to mothers and women the world over. Here, Sam talks to us about what she believes it means to be truly health, as well as what it means to her to be one of The CE Women.
What does being one of “The CE Women” mean to you?
I was really excited to be asked to be one of The CE Women. It means a lot to me as now i get to share my journey with others and help promote something that I’m really passionate about. Every woman deserves to feel their absolute best and i believe this book is the perfect answer!
What does being ‘truly healthy’ mean to you?
to me being ‘truly healthy’ is a combination of things. its to be in sync with yourself, to eat nourishing foods, exercise daily to feel great on the inside and outside, having adequate sleep and feeling happy and energised.
What do you love about The Body Guide?
What’s not to love about it?! I actually love every bit of these guides! The recipes are definitely a fave part 🙂
The CE loves to celebrate inspirational women. Who inspires you, and why?
My sister, Dani Bonnor, has always been such a big inspiration to me. She always pushes me to be my best and brings me back down to earth if my mind wanders and i start to put myself down. She is so strong and passionate about what she does and is so caring of the people around her. My sister is my best friend and she has such a big heart. I am lucky to have her.
What does a typical day in the life of Sam Bonnor look like?
Every day is so different for me but i do like to keep my mornings in routine. Usually I wake up when Ari does, have a coffee then wait for Alby to wake up and then we head out for a run/walk. Followed by a delicious homemade acai or smoothie bowl! Usually by the time this all happens its nearly lunch time!
Everyday I like to do some kind of workout may it be a run, pilates, a home circuit or a gym class which I have just recently gotten back in to after having Ari.
Lunch is always a salad jam packed with all the good stuff! I try to get out of the house in the afternoons for a walk, coffee date or run around the park with the boys.
I’m learning to keep my days calm and cruisy, not only for myself but for the boys. I can be easily stressed and feel rushed so learning to take a step back and slow down has been really good for me 🙂
What’s the best piece of advice you would give to women today?
My advice would be that it’s ok to be a little bit selfish. By this I mean, it’s ok to put yourself first and give yourself a break. We are always putting children, partners, work and chores before ourselves and our needs get lost. Take some time to do what makes you happy may that be going for a run, taking a bath, getting a massage or even going out for coffee. Since having 2 babies I have found taking time out for myself keeps me mentally and emotionally happy.
