Australian model, style icon and founder of Harpers Dresses, Siobhan is fast a #GirlBoss on the rise. This stylish entrepreneur prioritises her health, as she passionately stands for the right approach to women’s health, fitness and wellbeing. Here, Siobhan talks to us about true health and what being one of The CE Women means to her.

What does being one of “The CE Women” mean to you?

It’s a real privilege. I’m really excited and proud to be on board alongside some truly inspiring women. It’s important women support and encourage each other and I really believe The Collective Elite is working towards helping to achieve this.

What does being ‘truly healthy’ mean to you?

Being truly healthy to me is about feeling strong both mentally and physically. If you had asked me 10 years ago I would have simply said eating right and going to the gym. Luckily these days I’m older and I’d like to think a little wiser. Whilst agreeing diet and exercise are both very important, I also believe strong mental health is imperative to the balance across all elements of life. I do try my best to have a reasonably healthy diet, though I will never be that person who is ridiculously strict on myself. I love my burgers, pasta and chocolate and that will never change. Everything in moderation.

What do you love about The Body Guide?

I have The Special Edition and I love that it is a compact book filled with goodness and fits easily into my handbag. I travel a lot so this is the perfect companion to help me stay on track. Did I mention the recipes for the Bliss Balls?!
The Lemon & Coconut and Chocolate & Gogi are insane.

The CE loves to celebrate inspirational women. Who inspires you, and why?

This one is easy – My mum. She works two different jobs on night shift as a nurse/carer. She looks after elderly people and others with disabilities. It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse and I really admire her for that.

Why is your health a priority for you?

My health is a priority to me because I want to live a healthy, happy and long life with my loved ones. So often we take good health for granted. It’s important we listen to our bodies and look after them.

What’s your favourite quote, and why?

    “This too shall pass.”

It’s my favourite because it reminds me that nothing is permanent.
We are going to have both good and bad moments in life. Embrace it. Both will pass.

De-stressing, recovering and taking the time to regenerate is often an overlooked aspect of health. What is your ‘go-to’ regeneration activity?

I’m lucky enough to live right near the Botanical Gardens, so that’s my ‘go-to’ when I need to have some down time. I will either meditate there or go for a big walk. Vedic meditation is something I have introduced into my life the past six months and it’s really been a game changer.

A workout gives you so much more than physical benefits. What do your workouts do for you?

Working out gives me more energy and more focus for my day. I find I’m much more productive if I’ve worked out in the morning.

Having ‘strength’ can mean so many things…what does it mean to you?

To me, strength is the ability to overcome and endure. To keep pushing forward through whatever barriers you may encounter.

What’s the best piece of advice you would give to women today?

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Relax. As Oprah says your life is bigger than any one moment…. This really hit home for me. I think we put so much pressure on ourselves in today’s society that it’s easy to lose focus on what really matters. (Definitely advice I would give to my younger self.)
