Why that first step (to better health) is easier than you think…

“I’ll start on Monday”.

“I’ll start once I’ve got some new activewear”.

“I’ll start when I feel ready”.

Sound familiar? We’ve all done it. We’ve all put off making change, because it’s the first step that often feels the hardest. But every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. And in order to try, you have to start… you have to take those first steps on the path to making your goals happen.

Putting it off won’t just lose you time that you can’t get back, but it’ll make the ‘starting’ feel bigger, scarier and more drastic than it actually is. The result? You’ll want to put it off. Again. And the cycle will continue.

You have to interrupt that cycle.

You just have to start.

You don’t need a magical time to make a change. Monday 9am will feel exactly like right now. No time ever feels perfect – there’s no such thing as the perfect time. All you need to do is weigh up what will happen if you start today with what will happen if you don’t. You can become stronger, leaner, fitter, healthier and more confident as of today. Or, you can continue along a path that leaves you feeling less confident, weaker and in a poorer state of health.

Only you are able to make change happen. No-one else can do it for you.

So start now. Because 1 month from now you’ll wish you had, 3 months from now you’ll thank yourself for it and 12 months from now, you’ll be able to look back and see how taking that first step was the best decision you ever made.
